“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
That quote is probably one of my favorites from this book. I enjoyed this inspiring tale about a boy in search of a treasure. From cover-to-cover it was a constant reminder of how important it is to dream–to acknowledge the dream and to pursue that dream with all your might. And in doing so, to follow your heart, not allowing fear or life or people to deter you, and to always be open to what the Universe (God) is trying to tell you.
What really sold me on this book was my 12 year old picking it up, reading the inside of the front cover and deciding that he wanted to read it as well. He did it in less than 2 days and loved it! Took me a good week to read it (but that’s besides the point). So I can definitely recommend you allowing your kids to read it–at your discretion, of course.

This book changed the course of my life and is one of the reasons why I am where I am today. I was introduced to the “Law of Success” philosopy; the catalyst that opened my eyes to the possibility of obtaining wealth by pursuing my dreams. And at the same time God placed a desire in my then 3 year old, to want to be “on television, in movies, and magazines.” By the Fall of 2007, I packed our bags, moved from Houston to California, and never looked back.
