Lately, I’ve been searching for personal stories written by women–from all walks of life–that are in ways just like me, because of the similarities in our status; particularly as a divorced, single mommy. Discovering these women, reading about their lives, and seeing how their stories echo some of my own sentiments, has been extremely therapeutic. That’s why I am subscribing to the idea that sharing Continue reading 8 Rules For Co-Parenting With Your Ex Without (Many) Fights By Andrea Barbalich→
But you all have probably let her into your living rooms on Wednesday nights, and fell in love, as she served us all kinds of fierce, sexy, fabulousness & power with a tinge of no-nonsense, in her electrifying role as “Cookie Lyon” on the hit music industry inspired show Empire. Our #wcw (Women Crush Wednesday), is definitely a SiNgLe MoMmY Celebrity We Admire!
I wanted to share this interview with my SiNgLe MoMmY community, just to let you know that we can have it all…we can

Here are a couple of thrift gems that I paired together. This black shaggy faux fur vest was the perfect amount of texture to complement this cute animal print mini dress–those elephants are totally adorbs, right?
It was 65 and sunny on this winter day in Southern Cali, so I was able to pull this look off. I loved it so much, that I decided to shoot it for all my #thriftyfashionistas out there.
Hope you’re feeling inspired to thrift your heart out!
P.S. This outfit was fierce, but the wind was fiercer, as you can see in the pic on the left. This was my son’s favorite shot, so I had to include it. Can’t argue with the little guy that’s shooting you for free.
“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” ― Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
That quote is probably one of my favorites from this book. I enjoyed this inspiring tale about a boy in search of a treasure. From cover-to-cover it was a constant reminder of how important it is to dream–to acknowledge the dream and to pursue that dream with all your might. And in doing so, to follow your heart, not allowing fear or life or people to deter you, and to always be open to what the Universe (God) is trying to tell you.
What really sold me on this book was my 12 year old picking it up, reading the inside of the front cover and deciding that he wanted to read it as well. He did it in less than 2 days and loved it! Took me a good week to read it (but that’s besides the point). So I can definitely recommend you allowing your kids to read it–at your discretion, of course.
